Alumni Achievements The International Association for Jazz Arranging and Composition recently invited UTA Department of Music alumna, Tatiana Mayfield, to contribute to their monthly artists' series blog. Such an honor is the invitation to write for the highly curated blog, many in performing arts circles liken it to publishing in a prestigious journal. You can read Ms. Mayfield's article here.

Mavericks Making Moves Volunteers, led by Art+Art History professor, Sedrick Huckaby, recently painted an anti-racism message on a downtown Fort Worth street. Did You Know? UT Arlington and University of North Texas at Dallas are the best public universities in the state for helping struggling students, according to a new report intended to help underprivileged students succeed in higher education. Alumni Achievements The Plano City Council has selected Ed Drain, UTA Criminology and Criminal Justice alumnus, as the city’s new Chief of Police, KTVT-TV CBS 11 and others report. Drain began his law enforcement career with the Plano Police Department in 1994 and has served as Police Chief in Amarillo since 2016. For the full story, visit here.
